1923 Austin Seven Van

The Austin Seven was first sold in 1922 as a tourer and was soon called a chummy, the Van was first made in 1923 by Startins of Birmingham using a Chummy (tourer), the body was cut off to the rear of the doors. If you look at my van you can see the join just below the rear edge of door were the van body was added.

As you can see my van is sign written Donaldson's fish & game salesmen Kings Lynn.

Mr Donaldson was the first person to purchase a van at the car show in 1923 were it was lunched. Donaldson's are still trading in Kings Lnn.

These vans were made by Startins and sold by Austin with very small changes untill 1930.
